Mathematical Department of Russian Academy of Sciences and Euromath Center in Copenhagen hold the EmNet/NIS Workshop on Electronic Publithing systems for science and education. The Workshop will take place May 12-16 1998 in Pereslavl-Zalesskii (Russia) at the Program System Institute RAS. This Workshop is the part of EuroMath Net/NIS/II Project (INTAS IA-003)

The main problems treated at El-Pub-97 concerned the technology and (mainly available for free) software for preparing the electronic versions of scientific and methodical publications, invoking coloring and hypertext advantages, and for creation of information systems on Internet.

• the Russian traditional publishing support tools;
• multiple cyrillic encodings and multilingual support problems;
• new approaches to fonts development and application;
• scientific graphics portable programming tools for publishing systems;
• progress and interference of basic scientific information formats: \TeX , PostScript, PDF, SGML(HTML), OpenMath.

Publication of abstracts and articles in electronic form (TeX/LaTeX -> postscript, HTML).
